Description

  • Lead the configuration and ongoing maintenance of Workday Payroll and Time Tracking functionality for US operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, People Operations, and other internal teams to gather and incorporate requirements into Workday solutions.
  • Review proposed system changes to identify opportunities for process improvement, reuse, and increased efficiency.
  • Triage, scope, prioritize, and configure Workday enhancements or fixes across HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Timecards, Absence/Leaves, Payroll, and reporting.
  • Build, modify, and maintain custom reports, organizational hierarchies, custom objects, and custom security roles in Workday.
  • Partner with developers and integration teams (Workday Studio and other integrations) to analyze processes, troubleshoot integrations, and support vendor-related issues.
  • Write and execute test scenarios for system implementations and enhancements, and support testing and launch activities.
  • Document business requirements and solidify program needs with People Operations and other stakeholders for execution through Workday and related technologies.
  • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles while scaling Workday solutions globally and across new offices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience at fast-growing, global companies.
  • 2+ years of experience in Workday Payroll and Time Tracking configuration for US payroll.
  • Experience with Workday business process configuration, security, and organization configuration.
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Benefits, and Core HCM modules for U.S. and international locations.
  • Experience writing and completing test scenarios and supporting project planning, requirements gathering, testing, and launch.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and time entry design.
  • Experience partnering with developers on Workday Studio and integrations, and troubleshooting integrations to support vendors.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and prioritization frameworks.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, provide accurate timelines, deliver enhancements/fixes on time without supervision, and produce required change-management documentation.
  • Preferred: previous payroll processing experience, knowledge of employment compliance/legal best practices, and experience with Jira, Zendesk, or other business applications integrating to Workday.
  • Location: remote within the US except applicants residing in Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.

  • Base salary range $96,092.50–$129,200 USD for full-time employees (base pay may vary by location, skills, and experience).
