Description

  • Design and evolve IAM foundations for AI agents, including agent identity, permission guardrails, and enterprise-grade audit systems.
  • Design and build authentication and authorization systems that are reliable, standards-based, and performant at global scale.
  • Propose and implement technical solutions and guide system architecture across the stack, including frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and AI agents.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering to address cross-functional risk and governance challenges.
  • Support and develop other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and career development.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive engineering culture.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and operating production software using modern engineering practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, Golang, or a similar language.
  • Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience building security-sensitive or identity-related systems in production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, SAML, JWT, session management, or adjacent identity/security systems is preferred.
  • In-depth experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • Experience building secure authentication or authorization capabilities for web and/or mobile is preferred.
  • Experience building AI agent or non-human identity platforms is preferred.
  • This is a remote role open to candidates residing in the US or Canada, and relocation assistance is not provided.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary of CAD $142,800 to $184,800.
