Description

  • Serve as a primary responder for production data incidents, diagnose root causes, implement fixes, and protect data integrity.
  • Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting for production data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Manage, deploy, and maintain data pipelines, integrations pipelines, and APIs.
  • Optimize data processing jobs and API performance for speed, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce data validation and quality checks to reduce production errors and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on the AWS infrastructure supporting the data platform.
  • Maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting runbooks, and pipeline architecture documentation.
  • Communicate incident status and SLA reports to management.
  • Develop and deploy data pipelines and backend ingestion or integration jobs for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Work with data from multiple business domains, including CRM, product, marketing, order flow, support, and finance data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, information technology, or an equivalent engineering program.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Operations, or SRE supporting production data environments and user support on data issues.
  • Strong SQL experience for data analysis.
  • Experience with Python or a similar scripting language.
  • Exposure to ETL tools such as Fivetran, DBT, Workato, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Python-based API frameworks and API management tools.
  • Experience with RDBMS platforms such as MySQL, AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalent.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with data warehouses such as Databricks, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tools, and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems.
  • Comfort working with business users and internal cross-functional stakeholders to resolve incidents and understand data challenges.
  • Strong communication and project management skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, DataDog, or AWS CloudWatch, or equivalent.
  • Experience with AWS serverless services such as API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, and Secrets Manager.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary of $112,625 to $145,750 USD.
