Description

  • Lead teams of scientists and engineers working on computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning.
  • Architect, build, and improve hybrid cloud-edge machine learning solutions.
  • Own the model lifecycle across data curation, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Develop the core AI platform that powers safety capabilities at fleet scale.
  • Partner with firmware, full-stack, and Platform teams to ship reliable, low-latency features.
  • Contribute to the AI product roadmap for Samsara.
  • Stay current with industry and academic research and adopt relevant novel technologies.
  • Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or another technical degree.
  • 7+ years of relevant technical experience with AI systems.
  • 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading large software and science teams, including senior individual contributors.
  • Experience building and deploying large-scale machine learning systems with feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Comfort leading full-stack and backend development in addition to science and research.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or another technical degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of innovation and delivering customer value using AI is preferred.
  • Strong customer orientation and focus on improving the customer experience is preferred.
  • Experience building, deploying, and optimizing AI systems that span edge devices and the cloud is preferred.
  • Experience building products and solutions that rely on computer vision or sensor fusion is preferred.
  • This is a remote role open to candidates residing in the United States.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time is required.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $178,640 to $319,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff.
