Description

  • Support senior-level sellers to grow existing accounts and win new enterprise customers, owning the technical aspects of sales cycles.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and facilitate live proof-of-concept trials to ensure prospects understand and fully utilize the Samsara platform.
  • Design and deliver custom workarounds, advanced integrations, and technical storytelling to overcome objections and close deals.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs and coordinate technical responses during procurement processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and other cross-functional teams to provide product feedback, test alpha features, and influence product development.
  • Source and deliver product information, manage technical evaluation projects, and build process improvements and automation to scale the SE team.
  • Remain highly available to Sales and cross-functional teams, contribute to SE team enablement, and share learnings across internal communications channels.
  • Represent Samsara onsite, remotely, and at field events (conferences, trade shows) to demonstrate product value and platform capabilities.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles and act as a role model for customer-focused, long-term, inclusive, and team-oriented behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university (preferred fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related).
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role, customer success, or customer/product support (e.g., Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer).
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations and conducting proofs-of-concept.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems and exposure to cloud software and cloud-connected hardware.
  • Experience with technical consulting, computer networking, business systems integration, automation and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports (XML, REST, SOAP, EDI) and experience integrating with RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Experience with task automation scripting or data transfer between systems (Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent) and building solutions leveraging open APIs (preferred).
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (e.g., CAN bus, PTO) and hands-on hobbyist experience with electronic systems is a plus.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States; this remote role excludes San Francisco Bay, New York City Metro, and Washington DC Metro and requires up to 50% travel.
