Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain AI-focused SDKs that connect AI services with application layers.
  • Build backend services and system integrations that make AI capabilities available across Salla's products and teams.
  • Develop and maintain API integrations and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for AI agents to interact with internal systems, external tools, and databases.
  • Own the versioned rule and policy engine for integrity systems, translating risk signals and model scores into auditable enforcement decisions.
  • Model decision records, state transitions, and audit trails to support explainable, reversible integrity outcomes.
  • Partner with the integrity/ML lead to consume risk-scoring outputs and define enforcement-action contracts with product teams.
  • Write type-safe, scalable, high-performance TypeScript code following backend best practices.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to define AI data contracts, schemas, and interfaces.
  • Optimize AI-related data flows, including streaming responses and real-time interactions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including query optimization.
  • Solid grasp of software design principles, including SOLID, clean architecture, and design patterns.
  • Experience working with Git in structured team workflows such as Git Flow or PR-based development.
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing and integration testing.
  • Good understanding of how frontend applications consume backend services, including modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Familiarity with AI systems, including Agentic AI, LLM orchestration, or streaming AI responses, is preferred.
  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered features into production applications is preferred.
  • Experience designing rules engines, policy-as-code, state machines, or complex stateful business logic is preferred, with OPA/Rego or versioned decisioning as a bonus.
  • Strong domain and data modeling for correctness- and audit-critical systems is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue is preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud and DevOps tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams involving AI, backend, and frontend engineers is preferred.
  • Trust and safety, fraud, risk, or marketplace integrity experience is a bonus.
