Description

  • Provide leadership and development for the brand and creative teams, setting clear priorities, workflows, and standards.
  • Give thoughtful, actionable feedback to designers, writers, photographers, and external partners to improve creative output.
  • Evolve Rocky Talkie’s brand voice, narrative, and positioning and clarify what makes the products different in ways that resonate with users.
  • Translate detailed product features into clear, real-world benefits and shape messaging strategies for new customer segments and international markets.
  • Lead the development and creative direction of brand and educational content, including activity-specific guides, product storytelling, and instructional materials.
  • Manage the creative pipeline for ads, social posts, emails, website content, in-store displays, and other brand assets to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with guides, educators, athletes, SAR professionals, non-profits, and other credible partners to support community and ambassador efforts.
  • Lead brand-side strategy for product launches and key campaigns and ensure alignment between brand, eCommerce, and performance marketing.
  • Collaborate closely with product and leadership teams to deeply understand product decisions and translate them into compelling customer stories.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in brand marketing or related roles, preferably in the outdoor industry.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a brand or creative team.
  • Experience contributing to or leading brand strategy and positioning work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with creatives and external partners (designers, photographers, filmmakers, writers).
  • Comfort collaborating with product and leadership teams and translating technical product details into customer-facing messaging.
  • Experience building brands that serve both consumer outdoor markets and commercial/professional customers (e.g., guides, utilities, public safety) is a strong plus.
  • A genuine interest in outdoor activities, gear performance, and translating complex ideas into clear, approachable storytelling.
  • A collaborative, curious mindset and comfort working across disciplines with a player-coach mentality.
