Description

  • Serve as the bridge between technical execution and mission impact by translating complex DevSecOps, platform engineering, and digital transformation ideas into actionable product experiences.
  • Partner with open source software communities and contributors to shape tooling, content distribution, and platform integrations.
  • Drive continuous delivery for the Mission OS product, including the video series, workbook, marketing campaign, and live event strategy.
  • Own and evolve product vision and strategy with Rise8 leadership, content creators, marketing partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with subject matter experts, clients, and community members to gather insights and validate product direction.
  • Work embedded with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, content strategists, and government partners.
  • Support clients and government change agents in adopting Mission OS principles through hands-on product and transformation work.
  • Apply the Improvement Kata and other Mission OS frameworks to measure outcomes and iterate based on evidence from production.
  • Champion AI-augmented ways of working to help teams accelerate delivery, reduce cycle time, and improve software outcomes.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in product management, technical program management, software engineering, or platform engineering.
  • Deep technical fluency with architecture discussions, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and platform/tooling tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience with open source software as a contributor, maintainer, community participant, or product leader of OSS-backed products.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor balanced, cross-functional teams across product, design, and engineering.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation skills for workshops, discovery sessions, and cross-functional alignment activities.
  • Deep passion for continuous skill development and solving complex problems.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance for U.S. Government work.
  • Experience working within or alongside the Department of Defense, federal agencies, or large regulated enterprises (preferred).
  • Proficiency in lean product methodologies such as Lean Enterprise, Continuous Delivery, and DORA metrics (preferred).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including PaaS, path-to-production pipelines, and cATO frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience building or growing a product community, educational program, or developer ecosystem (preferred).
  • Interest in speaking and writing on product management, digital transformation, or govtech topics (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience building with AI and integrating it into product and engineering workflows (preferred).
  • Active security clearance (preferred).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Background investigation required if hired.
