Description

  • Lead forensic investigations to determine the origin and cause of electrical failures, malfunctions, and damages.
  • Perform site assessments and technical analyses of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, motors, controls, and renewable energy installations.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports, technical evaluations, and expert opinions for legal and insurance matters.
  • Develop restoration and repair recommendations, including design specifications and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients, attorneys, adjusters, and other stakeholders to deliver clear communication and quality service.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and other engineering staff.
  • Contribute to project delivery on complex electrical engineering and forensic investigation assignments.
  • Stay current with electrical engineering codes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • 10–12 years of electrical engineering experience with emphasis on forensic investigations, failure analysis, or energy services.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, control systems, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as CSA, NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as required.
