Description

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for power systems, generator integration, and electrical controls.
  • Define and approve electrical architectures for modular and scalable power plants.
  • Lead generator control and interconnection strategies, advanced power-system studies, and protection philosophies.
  • Author, approve, and maintain corporate electrical standards, specifications, and design guidelines.
  • Lead complex construction drawing packages and engineering deliverables while supporting CAPEX planning.
  • Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and failure investigations through root cause and corrective action.
  • Interface with utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, third-party engineers, and owners’ engineers.
  • Mentor electrical engineers and support technical development across teams.
  • Participate in executive safety and technical risk reviews while complying with NFPA 70E and LOTO requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; directly related experience may substitute.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in power systems engineering, generation, or utility-scale electrical design.
  • Demonstrated leadership in electrical architecture, generator controls and integration, and construction documentation standards.
  • Experience authoring and enforcing engineering standards, specifications, or design guidelines.
  • Experience leading power-system studies and defining protection philosophies.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical challenges and lead failure investigations to root cause.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers, with expert technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills for representing Atlas to utilities, regulators, engineering partners, and executives.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% to offices, field sites, fabrication shops, and customer locations; valid driver’s license required.
  • Professional Engineering license or licensure progress, ETAP or SKM expertise, Engineer of Record experience, and experience with microgrids, BESS, or inverter-based resources are preferred.
