Description

  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, planners, energy modelers, raters, builders, owners, and commercial real estate organizations to promote high-performance building strategies.
  • Maintain a pipeline of projects and leads and see projects through to completion.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of new construction utility offerings.
  • Work with program management, software, outreach, data analysis, customer service, and partner teams to deliver program goals.
  • Independently audit complex buildings, evaluate building systems, and identify energy efficiency and sustainability opportunities.
  • Build and review energy efficiency models using industry-standard simulation software.
  • Support onsite and virtual measurement and verification of as-built results after commissioning.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for new construction in business development initiatives.
  • Help ensure utility program projects meet energy efficiency targets and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience with energy efficiency building practices.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, especially lighting and HVAC, and/or sustainability practices.
  • Extensive familiarity with state building codes and energy codes for commercial and multifamily new construction, such as Utah’s IECC 2021 and Washington WAC 51-11C.
  • Extensive familiarity with reading architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with building simulation software such as REM/Rate, NEO, eQUEST, EnergyPro, and Trane Trace.
  • Familiarity with Net Zero strategies, Energy Use Intensity metrics, and Grid-Interactive Efficient Building (GEB) capabilities and initiatives.
  • Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel locally and domestically up to 20% of the time.
  • Knowledge and experience with building science, systems, and markets.
  • Interest in sustainability and a passion for making a meaningful environmental impact.
  • Preferred certifications include HERS Rater, BPI Building Analyst, LEED AP, and NGBS.
