Description

  • Perform on-site and virtual inspections of newly constructed buildings participating in utility rebate energy efficiency programs.
  • Conduct energy ratings for new homes submitted for rebates.
  • Review construction documents to identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency.
  • Perform blower door tests and duct blaster tests.
  • Coordinate on-site and remote inspection activities.
  • Review program submissions and energy modeling outputs for accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
  • Analyze project data, conduct research, and prepare reports.
  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, contractors, raters, builders, and other program partners.
  • Communicate program requirements and benefits to customers and stakeholders.
  • Stay current on energy codes, best practices, and relevant certifications.

Requirements

  • Associate’s, vocational, or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or HVAC trades, or equivalent work experience in energy efficiency or construction.
  • Current HERS Rater certification, BPI Quality Control Inspector certification, or equivalent experience with the ability to obtain certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds and use small tools and ladders.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and heat pump technology is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, insurance, and a personal vehicle for travel throughout Utah.
  • Interest in sustainability and a desire to make a meaningful environmental impact.

  • Base salary range of $50,000 to $90,000.
