Description

  • Support the implementation of prescriptive and custom energy efficiency projects.
  • Perform energy modeling, economic analysis, and simulation to quantify energy impacts and project value.
  • Develop project scopes and summarize implementation details for customer recommendations.
  • Conduct energy analyses for medium to large commercial and industrial facilities to identify efficiency improvements.
  • Write technical reports that summarize energy assessment results, project economics, and incentive potential.
  • Conduct measurement and verification site visits to establish energy usage patterns and verify savings measures.
  • Install field monitoring equipment or data loggers, collect BAS trend data, and complete functional performance tests as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with program staff, contractors, utility customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver professional, high-quality work while maintaining project budgets and schedules.
  • Assist with customer and project support to help maximize the benefits of utility programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mechanical, Energy, or a related engineering field.
  • 2+ years of project engineering experience or similar experience in the energy efficiency industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, thermal and fluid systems, motors, lighting, or other commercial and industrial systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Comfortable managing projects and workflows with varying levels of ambiguity.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a personal vehicle for customer site visits.
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 25%.
  • Strong oral communication, writing, analytical, planning, coordination, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Interest in sustainability and a desire to make a meaningful environmental impact.
  • Must be located in Indiana or Kentucky.
  • On-track for or interested in obtaining P.E., C.E.M., C.B.C.P. (or similar), or C.E.A. certification.
  • Preferred: CEM certification.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical, Energy, or a related engineering field.
  • Preferred: Experience in commercial and/or industrial sectors.
  • Preferred: Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, deliverables, and client relationships.
  • Preferred: Experience with HVAC, electrical, and building automation/controls design and specification.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with energy modeling/simulation tools such as DOE-2, eQuest, EnergyPlus, Trane Trace, or ECAM.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with energy-saving opportunities in lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, process heating and cooling, and similar systems.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of commissioning or retro-commissioning test procedures, schematic diagrams, and system specifications.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with energy efficiency codes and standards such as IECC, CFR, and ASHRAE 90.1.
