Description

  • Own day-to-day project management across multiple concurrent research projects from scoping through final output.
  • Build timelines, track deliverables, anticipate roadblocks, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project details and ensure clear communication across stakeholders.
  • Proactively move work forward by following up on dependencies and resolving blockers independently.
  • Lead first-round drafting and editing of surveys, focus group guides, experiments, and other research instruments.
  • Refine strategic and methodological direction from senior staff into clear research design and high-quality instruments.
  • Recommend question wording, measurement approaches, and other research best practices.
  • Analyze findings from surveys, focus groups, and experiments to identify key takeaways, risks, opportunities, and follow-up questions.
  • Draft and edit memos, briefings, guidance documents, and other written products that translate research into actionable insights.
  • Manage, coach, and assign work to part-time research staff and provide day-to-day support to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Meaningful experience supporting or managing quantitative and/or qualitative public opinion research projects.
  • Experience independently drafting survey instruments and/or focus group guides.
  • Experience analyzing research findings and drafting research deliverables.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain timelines.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, persuasive memos and briefings.
  • Strong drafting and editing judgment, including tone, structure, and clarity.
  • Analytically rigorous with sound judgment on question wording, instrument design, data interpretation, and synthesis.
  • Ability to coach, support, and provide clear accountability to more junior staff.
  • Commitment to pro-democracy work and understanding of how research informs narrative and political outcomes.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion, including centering the voices of communities impacted by racism and white supremacy.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly in a shifting political environment, and prioritize effectively when demands exceed capacity.
  • Remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States with occasional travel.
