Description

  • Design the long-term architecture for internal platform services.
  • Build and lead the engineering function from the ground up.
  • Consolidate fragmented systems into a cohesive platform with unified ownership.
  • Own backend platform services for onboarding, KYC, authentication, notifications, and document handling.
  • Establish technical standards and backend engineering principles across product teams.
  • Mentor senior engineers and conduct architectural reviews.
  • Collaborate on team formation and hiring to grow the engineering organization.
  • Manage the orchestration of other product lines through the internal platform.
  • Bring order to existing fragmented systems and define clear technical direction.

Requirements

  • Hands-on backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency with AWS EKS, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Deep knowledge of high-load, distributed system architecture and operations.
  • Background in Big Tech or complex fintech environments.
  • Experience with identity systems, KYC, internal tooling, or platform-as-a-service offerings is valuable.
  • Experience establishing technical standards across product teams.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and performing architectural reviews.
  • Strong problem-solving ability to unify fragmented systems and create clear ownership.
  • Collaborative leadership and team-building skills for forming and guiding new teams.
  • Fluent in both Russian and English.
