Description

  • Provide M&A and corporate transaction support, including due diligence, negotiation, and legal integration.
  • Advise senior management on strategy, risk, and compliance matters and influence key organizational decisions.
  • Review externally facing materials such as websites, RFPs, and marketing content for legal risk.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Risk on consumer protection, data protection and privacy, regulatory frameworks, and governance matters.
  • Support intellectual property management and protection.
  • Assist with crisis response and management efforts.
  • Monitor legal developments and keep leadership informed of changes in the corporate legal landscape.
  • Serve as the primary legal resource for People Ops, Product, IT, Revenue, and Finance teams.
  • Act as Corporate Secretary for Renaissance Charitable Foundation and support the Board of Directors and officers.
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel as needed.
  • Use AI tools and technology to improve legal research, drafting, due diligence, and contract review.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in at least one state is required.
  • 5+ years of legal experience in-house or at a law firm with a corporate, M&A, or transactional focus.
  • Broad cross-functional exposure is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of M&A, corporate finance, governance, and corporate transactions.
  • Experience with employment, intellectual property, and/or data protection and privacy is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and influence senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with executives, board members, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency using AI-assisted tools for legal research, contract analysis, or document drafting.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment on complex legal matters, and direct outside counsel.
