Description

  • Lead development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Build tools, APIs, and integrations for one of Remote’s products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing technical feedback and suggesting solutions and product improvements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and provide feedback to other engineers.
  • Contribute to the shared codebase and help debug technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement improvements to the platform.
  • Design and implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Redesign engineering workflows around autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end from specification through planning, execution, and verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure outputs are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining clear specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • Experience with Next.js is preferred.
  • Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
  • Comfort working with backend systems built on Elixir and Phoenix is a plus.
  • Ability to submit an application and CV in English, with a PDF CV preferred; LinkedIn profile accepted as an alternative.
  • Full-time availability for a role that starts as soon as possible.
