Description

Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
Build tools, APIs, and integrations for one of Remote’s products.
Participate actively in product work by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and proposing product improvements.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and provide feedback on pull requests.
Debug and solve technical as well as business issues.
Contribute to the shared codebase and improve the platform over time.
Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, and RFC discussions as needed.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Design, operationalize, and improve agentic workflows end to end from spec through verification.
Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across domains.
Use testing, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js is preferred.
Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
Ability to apply AI capabilities in role-specific work, as Remote expects automation and AI considerations in every role.
English-language application materials, including a CV in PDF format, are required.
Availability to work fully remotely from anywhere in the world.
Ability to start as soon as possible.
