Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate actively in product work: provide feedback, suggest technical solutions, and propose product improvements.
  • Design, implement, and contribute to the shared codebase, including reusable agentic workflows and primitives.
  • Propose, spec, plan, implement and operationalize end-to-end agentic/automation workflows (spec → plan → execute → verify).
  • Redesign how engineering work ships by making autonomous agents the default execution layer where appropriate.
  • Implement interfaces with attention to performance, accessibility, and API design.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues, using verification loops (tests, checks, evals, guardrails) to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Provide and act on feedback in code reviews and contribute to platform improvements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers and participate in non-team activities such as support rotations, hiring, and RFC discussions.

Requirements

  • Proven track record shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing, adopting, or iterating on agentic/automation workflows or comparable systems.
  • Ability to think in systems: define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar) and frequent deployments.
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fully remote, globally distributed team and starting as soon as possible.
  • Familiarity with Functional Programming languages and ecosystems is a plus (Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell).
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS is desirable.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (Next.js, React, Vue, Angular) is a plus.
