Description

Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
Collaborate on product work by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and identifying product improvements through technical insight.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
Contribute to the shared codebase and help debug technical and business issues.
Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, RFC discussions, and other non-team activities.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
Implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Design, propose, and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end, including spec, plan, execute, and verify stages.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems, define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
Experience with Postgres or a similar relational database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js is preferred.
Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
Ability to submit the application and CV in English.
