Description

Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
Work with product and engineering partners to provide feedback, suggest solutions, and improve product direction.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
Implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Design and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end, from specification through verification.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them iteratively.
Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js or a frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.

Competitive salary with an annual range of $53,300 to $119,850 USD.
