Description

  • Own payroll compliance for your assigned country or region and act as the accountable expert.
  • Interpret local legal and payroll requirements and ensure they are documented and implemented across processes, systems, and customer workflows.
  • Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, thresholds, and edge cases into product and engineering requirements.
  • Partner with Product Design to create compliant, intuitive, and auditable user experiences.
  • Review specifications, test logic, and validate product outputs for legislative accuracy.
  • Lead multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation.
  • Establish scalable audit frameworks and drive root-cause analysis and systemic improvements.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for regional compliance incidents and support incident resolution and corrective actions.
  • Create scalable compliance processes, controls, SOPs, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Build training materials and documentation, and coach internal teams to raise compliance capability.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for a specific country or region.
  • Strong understanding of how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
  • Proven experience leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and senior leadership.
  • Confident investigator with sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive scenarios.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others to build team capability.
  • Systems-thinking mindset with experience designing scalable frameworks, documentation, processes, and controls.
  • Comfort working in an asynchronous, fast-changing, fully remote environment.
  • Automation and AI capabilities are expected in every role at Remote.
