Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
  • Spend about 30% of the time on management work while remaining hands-on in product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers in hiring as needed.
  • Own the onboarding process for new engineers.
  • Manage team dynamics and serve as the spokesperson for the team.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support each direct report’s growth and career development.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase for use across domains.
  • Use tests, checks, evaluations, and guardrails to verify correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or backend technologies such as Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs clearly, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A process-oriented mindset with a kind, people-first approach.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ambition and intentionality around diversity, equality, and inclusion.
