Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend work.
  • Spend about 30% of the role on management duties while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding processes for the team and support peers as needed.
  • Manage team dynamics, serve as the spokesperson for the team, and help each member perform at their best.
  • Give continuous, constructive feedback and provide guidance and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support each direct report’s career growth and help the team grow continuously as a group.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase for use across domains.
  • Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with Frontend technologies such as React, JS, ES6, and Jest, or Backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs clearly, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • A people-first approach focused on efficient processes.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
