Description

  • Lead the commercial legal team as the directly responsible individual for sales, partnership, and vendor contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Provide timely legal support for month-end and quarter-end commercial activity.
  • Enable GTM teams to close enterprise customers by improving commercial terms, templates, and sales contracting processes.
  • Train and advise GTM teams in close collaboration with Legal and GTM stakeholders.
  • Support partnership deal negotiations and draft bespoke terms that preserve business intent and commercial viability.
  • Work with revenue operations and legal operations to automate workflows and improve contracting efficiency using AI.
  • Maintain the contract lifecycle management system and related processes.
  • Track and use commercial contracting metrics to inform decisions by GTM and Finance stakeholders.
  • Mentor, guide, and provide constructive feedback to a team of commercial lawyers.
  • Build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and lead cross-functional legal projects across GTM, Tax, Finance, Product, and other teams.
  • Develop best practices, lead training, and make legal guidance more accessible across the business.
  • Manage external local counsel as needed and support additional legal, advisory, regulatory, and compliance work.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer in your location is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience as a commercial contracts lawyer, including difficult negotiations and complex legal points.
  • Previous in-house experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with sales, partnership, and procurement transactions in HR tech and/or SaaS.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of approximately 3-5 direct reports.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship-building skills in a fully remote environment.
  • Interest in working for a tech scale-up and in using AI to work smarter and faster.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in or ability to learn Slack, Coupa, Notion, Google Drive, and related tools.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Remote work experience is a plus.
  • Location must be in the US or UK.
  • Ability to start as soon as possible.
