Description

  • Meet regularly with students and parents to create and review college admissions strategy.
  • Develop balanced college lists based on students’ goals, backgrounds, and interests.
  • Provide feedback and support for college essays and supplemental materials.
  • Plan application submission timelines and strategies for multiple admissions rounds.
  • Curate and review students’ activities resumes.
  • Plan for and request letters of recommendation.
  • Provide admissions interview coaching.
  • Plan campus visits and tours.
  • Manage students’ academic, standardized test, and extracurricular plans.
  • Coach students through independent projects and compare admissions offers with families.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and parents to ensure clients feel supported.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 10 hours per week of availability.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Associate Dean/Director at a U.S. four-year degree-granting college or university, a U.S. public or private school College Prep counselor, or a similar admissions role.
  • Strong knowledge of college admissions criteria at competitive schools, little ivies, and hidden gems.
  • Proven exceptional writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong "manage up" mentality.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Outgoing, empathetic personality with strong relationship-building skills.
  • High confidence using web-conferencing, document sharing, and online lesson tools.
