Description

  • Create, submit, update, and track purchase orders in the ERP/purchasing system, ensuring complete supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with suppliers by email, portals, and phone to request quotes, confirm pricing and availability, follow up on deliveries, and resolve basic order and invoice issues.
  • Maintain accurate vendor, item, and pricing records, including catalogs, preferred vendor lists, and vendor hot sheets.
  • Support inventory and job buyouts by entering and updating project-specific POs and maintaining cost data at the cost code level in Sage or similar systems.
  • Run, format, and publish recurring reports such as vendor spend, PO accuracy, budget versus actual, and commodity price trends.
  • Assist with digital fleet and asset tracking by updating records for vehicles and tools based on information from field and fleet teams.
  • Ensure purchasing activities follow procurement policies, approval workflows, documentation standards, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain standardized templates and checklists to support purchasing consistency and compliance.
  • Monitor market and commodity pricing for key electrical materials and summarize savings opportunities or risk to the purchasing or project team.

Requirements

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support, preferably in construction or electrical contracting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Comfort working in ERP/purchasing and accounting tools such as Sage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent time management in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to analyze quotes, compare pricing and terms, interpret basic cost and budget reports, and assess supplier performance trends.
  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Procurement certifications such as CPSM, CPP, or similar are preferred but not required.
  • Reliable high-speed internet, an appropriate home workspace, and ability to work agreed-upon core business hours.
  • This is a 100% remote, full-time role.
