Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers with clear goals and regular feedback.
  • Partner with Product Managers and other stakeholders to define, maintain, and deliver the team roadmap.
  • Ensure high software quality through code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, including agile, DevOps, and testing.
  • Build and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Serve as the escalation point for technical and delivery challenges within the team.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and career development for engineers.
  • Balance delivery speed with platform stability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express, as well as frontend services using React.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with DevOps and support teams.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and propose technical improvements.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance technical trade-offs with business priorities.
  • Experience running agile delivery processes such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams, with 2+ years as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and React, or comparable stacks.
  • Solid understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming, error handling, and performance optimization in Node.js.
  • Familiarity with containerized deployments such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows such as GitHub, GitLab, or similar.
  • Familiarity with PHP/Laravel for interaction with a legacy platform.
  • Understanding of security best practices for backend services.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.
  • Exposure to distributed systems or microservices-based architectures.
