  • Design algorithms in Matlab and Python and implement them in C++ on target embedded hardware.
  • Own real-time processing of radar algorithms on FPGA and DSP-based platforms, including optimization and deployment.
  • Define and drive system-level requirements for phased-array radar systems and lead trade studies to balance performance, cost, and risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, systems, flight test) throughout design, integration, and verification.
  • Support integration of radar onto aircraft and lead/participate in flight-test data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform end-to-end development from concept through production, including system design, integration, testing, and verification.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes during development and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline (EE fundamentals expected).
  • 8+ years of professional hands-on experience with radar algorithms, radar system design, radar signal processing, integration, and testing.
  • Proficiency with C++, Matlab, and Python (Python preferred).
  • Experience developing pulsed and FMCW processing algorithms.
  • Experience in airborne radar testing and development.
  • Experience with real-time processing and embedded implementation on FPGA or DSP-based platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve complex system issues.
  • Willingness to travel up to ~30% for integration and flight testing.
  • Ability to comply with U.S. export control requirements and provide documentation of legal status as a U.S. person or otherwise authorized to access export-controlled technology.
  • Preferred: advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Science or Electrical Engineering; experience developing system architectures and managing requirements for avionics certification; experience integrating and troubleshooting electronic sensors; weather radar, real-beam imaging, or SAR processing experience; demonstrated creative problem-solving and risk-based decision-making.

Benefits

  • Estimated salary range $180,000–$260,000/year plus cash bonuses and stock option awards.
  • Stock options and equity participation.
  • Employee medical benefits and 401(k) contribution.
  • Flexible work location (remote or Mountain View, CA) and a casual, collaborative work environment.
  • Competitive compensation aligned to experience, market, location, and pay equity.
  • Mission-driven team and opportunity to work on safety-critical aviation technology.
