Description

  • Design, test, and analyze custom electronics for the Terran R launch vehicle.
  • Oversee hardware development across the full product lifecycle from concept to flight maturity.
  • Lead initial design, board bring-up, design verification, qualification, and initial flight production.
  • Support integration of avionics hardware into the vehicle and conduct vehicle operations support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company to make system-level decisions.
  • Work closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation.
  • Help shape Terran R’s fundamental avionics architecture.
  • Own components that are intended to fly.
  • Partner with avionics design, manufacturing, and test teams to enable rapid iteration and feedback loops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing electronics for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with eCAD software such as Altium or equivalent.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis.
  • Experience with board-level design from concept to manufacturing.
  • Experience working with highly cross-functional teams across mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, and related disciplines to develop integrated electronics solutions.
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and integration for avionics systems (preferred).
  • Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability of avionics hardware and systems (preferred).
  • Technical expertise in motor drives and control, DC-DC converters, load switches, and high-voltage DC electronics (preferred).
