Description

  • Design, test, and analyze custom high-speed electronics for Terran R.
  • Oversee hardware development across the full product lifecycle from concept to flight maturity.
  • Lead initial design, board bring-up, design verification, qualification, flight production, integration, and vehicle operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make vehicle-level hardware decisions.
  • Work closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Help shape Terran R’s avionics architecture and own hardware components that will fly.
  • Support rapid iteration by partnering across avionics design, manufacturing, and test.
  • Ensure hardware projects are reliable and on schedule to support launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electronics for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
  • Technical expertise in high-speed serial interfaces such as SPI, PCIe, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with memory interfaces and design for SoCs, microcontrollers, and microprocessors.
  • Experience with eCAD software such as Altium or equivalent.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis.
  • Experience with board-level design from concept to manufacturing.
  • Experience working with highly cross-functional teams across mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software disciplines.
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and integration for avionics systems (preferred).
  • Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability of avionics hardware and systems (preferred).
