Description

  • Manage a team of test engineers responsible for the design, development, and implementation of fully automated test systems for Terran R electronics.
  • Work with hardware and software design teams to create manufacturing test assets for acceptance and qualification testing.
  • Coach engineers on technical and non-technical best practices while fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Own and improve the full lifecycle of avionics test systems, including planning, design, development, debugging, and maintenance in production.
  • Support environmental and qualification testing, including vibration, thermal, shock, and EMI/EMC validation.
  • Collaborate closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation.
  • Help shape Terran R avionics architecture and contribute to components that will fly.
  • Lead rapid iteration and feedback loops across avionics design, manufacturing, and test functions.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with electronics hardware simulation, automation, and/or test.
  • Experience leading engineers in best practices and domain-specific technical principles.
  • Experience owning complex test system design for motor drives, DC-DC converters, load switches, high voltage DC electronics, and/or high voltage energy storage.
  • Experience in strategic planning, design, development, debugging, and maintenance of test systems in a production environment.
  • Experience with environmental and qualification testing, including vibration, thermal, shock, and EMI/EMC validation.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer is preferred.
  • Experience with analog sensors such as pressure transducers, RTDs, and accelerometers is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded software development and integration for avionics systems is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for data acquisition, recording, and analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with wire harness design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX is preferred.
