Description

  • Develop and lead a high-performing Supplier Development Engineering team with a culture of ownership, technical rigor, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Set and execute the supplier development strategy, reliability roadmap, and SQMS processes to support Terran R production, launch, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive supplier performance management by defining metrics and scorecards that improve PPM, yield, PPAP timing, and supplier capability.
  • Own major supplier risk escalation and resolution, using disciplined problem-solving methods to recover from quality or capacity issues quickly.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain on supplier qualification, technical requirements, and new product introduction execution.
  • Oversee supplier qualification and implementation of APQP, DFM/DFA, PPAP, and FAIR approvals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods to protect build schedules and strengthen manufacturing robustness.
  • Establish processes, controls, and inspections that scale with the Terran R program without slowing progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Supplier Industrialization, Supplier Development, or Manufacturing Engineering, ideally in aerospace or another high-reliability, safety-critical industry.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, including coaching, mentorship, and performance management of an engineering team.
  • Expert knowledge of quality systems such as AS9100 and ISO 9001, and core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FAIRs, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Proven ability to influence the implementation and compliance of key quality initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience building processes from the ground up and deploying them across diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the work week when needed.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related technical field, is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CMQ/OE, or PMP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise applications such as PLM, ERP, and MES, plus proficiency in data analysis, is preferred.
