Description

  • Own quality activities across design, planning, manufacturing, and program execution for Terran R.
  • Support drawing standardization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and configuration management and control.
  • Review work instructions, develop processes, and create standard rework and repair documentation.
  • Perform in-process build verification and coordinate travelled work during manufacturing.
  • Manage nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, and root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Drive quality initiatives that support the growing launch vehicle program, including specification development and walkdown checklists.
  • Support automation initiatives for quality inspection and assist with DFM practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with engineering, additive, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to meet program objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Extensive experience working with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and complex assembly practices, along with typical quality processes and controls.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to solve difficult problems in practical and imaginative ways across multiple teams.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively to team members, leaders, and senior management.
  • Well-versed in process development and first-time quality efforts.
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV is preferred.
  • New product introduction (NPI) experience bringing hardware systems into manufacturing, test, and production environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods is preferred.
  • Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 applications and practices for an aerospace program is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and own a process from scratch and roll it out through strong communication is preferred.
