Description

  • Own quality-related work across design, planning, manufacturing, and program execution for the Terran R program.
  • Support drawing standardization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and configuration management and control.
  • Review work instructions, develop processes, and create standard rework and repair documentation.
  • Perform in-process build verification and coordinate traveled work during manufacturing.
  • Manage nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, and root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Drive quality initiatives for the growing launch vehicle program, including specification development and walk-down checklists.
  • Support automation initiatives for quality inspection and contribute to DFM practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams to meet company objectives.
  • Help establish processes, controls, and inspections that scale without slowing production progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Extensive experience working with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and complex assembly practices, including quality processes and controls.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to solve difficult problems creatively and practically across multiple teams.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively to team members, team leaders, and top management.
  • Experience with process development and first-time quality efforts.
  • Preferred experience with FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV.
  • Preferred background in introducing new hardware into manufacturing, test, and production systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods.
  • Preferred understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 applications in aerospace.
  • Preferred experience defining and owning a process from scratch and rolling it out across diverse teams.
