Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and controls.
  • Oversee security technologies and controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery from security breaches.
  • Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify, prioritize, and mitigate security risks.
  • Develop and maintain a risk management framework for protecting data and systems.
  • Coordinate audits and assessments to validate security controls and address compliance gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams on risk-related issues and security decisions.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced security solutions, including AI-driven threat detection, zero-trust architecture, and cloud security tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT security, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Experience with modern cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Expertise in network security, encryption, and endpoint protection.
  • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and DLP.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle sensitive information discreetly, and lead remote teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization tools, and project management software.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Knowledge of VA disability ratings and claims is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate difficult interpersonal conversations and communicate across multiple departments and platforms.
