Description

  • Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and client engineering teams to translate user and business needs into reliable, low-latency solutions.
  • Own the full software lifecycle, including technical design, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
  • Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using behavioral, conversion, and retention data.
  • Build and maintain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs and distributed backend services.
  • Optimize systems for client consumption and consumer UI performance.
  • Establish engineering best practices and improve developer workflows.
  • Mentor teammates and use modern, AI-assisted tools to deliver high-quality products efficiently.
  • Contribute to consumer teams spanning feeds, communities, growth, monetization, identity, and security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience with large-scale distributed systems in high-concurrency environments.
  • 6+ years of software development experience with frontend-focused languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as Lit, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular, including CSS.
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and basic Thrift; API design experience is preferred.
  • Experience designing experiments, defining performance metrics, and using data to guide product decisions.
  • Strong understanding of product usability, interaction design, social dynamics, and user growth loops.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in fast-paced product environments.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills in remote or hybrid teams.
  • Experience or interest in AI-assisted engineering tools.
