Description

  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners to build user-facing products and features.
  • Own major projects through design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
  • Write and review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mocks, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive planning, development, and implementation of critical projects across Reddit’s web architecture.
  • Establish engineering standards, improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and mentor team members.
  • Promote metrics-led execution, operational excellence, and system observability.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop product and engineering roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience with frontend-focused languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular, along with CSS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and keep projects on schedule.
  • Strong focus on user experience and usability; social product experience is preferred.
  • Self-directed, innovative, action-oriented approach in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, including in fully remote teams.
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, and maintainable API design is preferred.
  • Understanding of large-scale web applications, high requests per second, and complex-page performance is preferred.
