Description

  • Design and implement GNC solutions for new spacecraft and mission payload integrations on Airbus spacecraft platforms.
  • Analyze, design, and develop GNC systems, including sensors, actuators, algorithms, flight software, and GNC electronics.
  • Support subsystem requirements development and requirement flow-down across the full development lifecycle, with emphasis on Design for Cost, Manufacturability, and Test.
  • Maximize reuse of existing Airbus heritage products and identify where modifications are needed.
  • Drive multiple design activities and potentially lead spacecraft, payload, satellite bus, and launch integration efforts.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution across engineering and integration functions.
  • Support Airbus spacecraft development roadmap efforts, including design adjustments, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Support definition of spacecraft customization processes for customer mission needs.
  • Perform GNC system engineering activities to build, maintain, and evolve Airbus spacecraft products.
  • Promote cost savings through reuse of heritage platform designs and manufacturing infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related scientific field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a master's degree, in spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control system analysis, design, and verification.
  • 5+ years of experience in guidance, navigation, and control system analysis, design, and verification on spacecraft.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and STK.
  • Experience modeling, simulating, and analyzing spacecraft GNC sensors, actuators, dynamics, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML/UML), requirements, architectures, interfaces, and trade studies.
  • Familiarity with software development, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C and C++, and scripting languages such as TCL and Python.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
