Description

  • Develop and upgrade satellite flight software for new missions and platforms.
  • Execute unit-, module-, subsystem-, and platform-level flight software verification and validation.
  • Integrate and test cFS-based flight software in simulation, FlatSat, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Develop tools for flight software performance analysis, mission compatibility assessment, and ground support equipment.
  • Support software integration across spacecraft subsystems, flight computers, payloads, and ground systems.
  • Design and maintain reusable flight software components, messaging architectures, and command and telemetry interfaces.
  • Support anomaly resolution, software patching, and end-to-end validation of autonomous spacecraft operations.
  • Develop systems- and mission-level models, including payload and satellite platform software models.
  • Document test methodologies, plans, versioning, and bug reports, and conduct official validation tests.
  • Support customer and vendor working groups, proposal development, and software impact assessments for new hardware and missions.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related scientific field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 1 year with a master's degree.
  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience with aerospace hardware or software systems across the lifecycle from concept through operations.
  • Expertise in embedded software development and testing, device drivers, real-time systems, hardware/software interfaces, simulators, or software configuration management.
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and address unfamiliar technical challenges.
  • Experience developing spacecraft flight software for satellites, spacecraft, launch vehicles, or autonomous aerospace systems (preferred).
  • Experience with NASA Core Flight System (cFS), real-time operating systems such as RTEMS, VxWorks, Integrity, or embedded Linux, and spacecraft command and telemetry systems (preferred).
  • Experience with HIL, FlatSat, digital twin, spacecraft integration and test, mission operations, anomaly resolution, or on-orbit software maintenance (preferred).
