Description

  • Act as the technical expert for smart factory and edge architectures in a multi-site, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Review architectural designs for edge, network, cloud, security, and data models, and confirm implementation feasibility.
  • Align with cloud engineers and OT consultants to ensure ISA-95-compliant IT/OT integration across layers L0–L4/5.
  • Validate that required cloud, edge, connectivity, identity, and monitoring services are deployed and configured correctly.
  • Define and validate edge-to-cloud data flow requirements, including tags, payload schemas, naming conventions, latency, buffering, and data quality rules.
  • Create and validate conceptual and logical models for factory asset hierarchy and mapping to data streams.
  • Support industrial connectivity patterns such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and REST, and integration with OT data sources.
  • Drive architecture decisions for ingestion, storage, and analytics using Azure, AWS, and Snowflake services.
  • Ensure observability is in place through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational runbooks.
  • Coordinate site readiness, testing, go-live, and operational stabilization activities, including issue resolution and handover readiness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in industrial IT/OT, smart factory, or manufacturing digitalization roles with architect-level ownership.
  • Proven hands-on delivery experience implementing edge-to-cloud integration in real factory environments.
  • Strong understanding of ISA-95, industrial architectures, and core OT systems such as PLC/SCADA/DCS, historians, and MES.
  • Cloud architecture experience on Azure and/or AWS, with familiarity in Snowflake, Databricks, and modern data platforms.
  • Solid fundamentals in networking, including firewalls, VLANs, routing, certificates, and proxies.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, including Azure AD/RBAC/Managed Identities or AWS IAM, secrets, and key management.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead technical conversations with security, IT, OT, and business stakeholders globally.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of IEC 62443, OT security frameworks, and industrial zero trust patterns.
  • Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes at edge/cloud, IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation, and CI/CD.
  • Preferred: Experience with industrial historians, time-series stacks, data governance, or Digital Twin solutions.
