Description

  • Open and manage motor vehicle accident case files from intake through settlement or trial preparation.
  • Maintain accurate case records in Filevine and track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and litigation calendars.
  • Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and other third parties.
  • Request, obtain, organize, review, and summarize medical records, bills, lien information, and treatment timelines.
  • Prepare case summaries, medical chronologies, demand packages, and supporting documentation for attorney review.
  • Draft correspondence, authorization forms, status updates, demand letters, settlement documents, and other case-related communications.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations, counter-demands, settlement statements, closing documents, and disbursement calculations.
  • Support litigation tasks such as preparing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, trial binders, exhibit lists, and case chronologies.
  • E-file documents, manage court deadlines, and coordinate depositions, IMEs, and court appearances.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, document all interactions, and provide updates throughout the life of the case.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of U.S. paralegal experience, with fewer years also considered.
  • Exposure to motor vehicle accident or personal injury cases for U.S.-based law firms is advantageous.
  • Experience managing personal injury files from intake through demand and settlement is a plus.
  • Experience using Filevine or similar case management tools is advantageous.
  • Understanding of motor vehicle claims, including liability, UM/UIM, MedPay, PIP, and lien resolution, is desirable.
  • Experience requesting, reviewing, and summarizing medical records and billing documentation is helpful.
  • Ability to draft demand letters, settlement packages, and client correspondence independently is advantageous.
  • Experience with insurance carrier communications and adjuster workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with litigation support, including discovery, deposition summaries, and trial prep, is nice to have.
  • Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid Secondary Payer rules and lien resolution processes is nice to have.
  • Experience with e-filing systems and court rules in relevant jurisdictions is nice to have.
  • Exposure to mass tort or multi-plaintiff case management is nice to have.
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant legal education is nice to have.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish ability is a plus.
