Description

  • Serve as the day-to-day scientific communications lead on large to mid-sized accounts or specific projects within Integrated Communications.
  • Translate complex data and science into clear, compelling narratives and storytelling for diverse audiences, including industry, investors, HCPs, patients, and advocacy groups.
  • Develop client-ready communications materials such as press releases, backgrounders, Q&A documents, scientific social content, investor presentations, and executive talking points.
  • Create clinical trial materials that support recruitment efforts with strong calls to action.
  • Own projects end to end, including clarifying scope, managing version control, and flexing between writer, subject matter expert, and content reviewer as needed.
  • Ensure deliverables are on time and on budget while contributing to pricing and scope development.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities by triaging requests based on urgency, impact, and client expectations.
  • Serve as a strategic scientific communications partner to clients and internal teams, providing counsel on messaging and audience approach.
  • Review team-generated deliverables for scientific accuracy, clarity, and alignment to broader scientific strategy.
  • Contribute to organic growth and new business efforts by supporting research, pitch development, and sell-in of new ideas and offerings.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a life sciences discipline (MD, PhD) or clinical training (PharmD, MD, NP, PA).
  • 5+ years of communications or other relevant experience, including advertising.
  • Experience in corporate communications, PR, or investor relations is preferred.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with one or more therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, cardiometabolic/obesity, rare disease, or neuroscience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work across evolving business needs and quick timelines with agility.
  • Comfort presenting in new business pitches and answering client questions about scientific details.
  • Ability to create tactical ideas and programming to support existing or prospective client growth.
  • Strong understanding of scientific research, clinical programs, competitive positioning, and patient need.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with account leads and medical communications teams is preferred.
