Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and integrations across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Build, optimize, and automate business workflows using Power Automate (and equivalent tools) to improve efficiency.
  • Develop robust Python applications for data processing, automation, and backend services, including use of PySpark and pandas.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and scripts to manage and analyze complex datasets.
  • Design and implement secure, reliable API integrations between internal and external systems, handling authentication, pagination, throttling, and incremental loads.
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Microsoft Azure environments, with focus on Azure Function Apps and related services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and provide technical leadership.
  • Mentor junior developers, support peer code reviews, ensure application security, performance, and scalability best practices, and recommend improvements based on emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, information systems, networking, information security, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Less than 25% travel to Rea offices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Logic Apps, Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse or equivalent).
  • Proven expertise in Power Automate workflow development; experience with Power Apps and Dataverse is preferred.
  • Expert-level Python skills for automation, data processing, and backend development, including PySpark and pandas for structured data manipulation.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, database design, and building complex stored procedures and views.
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL concepts (slowly changing dimensions, medallion architecture, transformation layers, Databricks or dbt equivalent).
  • Experience designing, integrating, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and understanding API authentication, change data capture, throttling/retry logic, and translating API calls into data pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization standards (OAuth, Azure AD).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and drive projects forward.
  • Preferred: experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps and DevOps best practices; familiarity with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps); knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); optional machine learning/data science experience; familiarity with Agentic AI platforms (Copilot Studio, ChatGPT Agent).
