Description

  • Architect, develop, and deploy machine learning systems to production, especially for chatbots and search use cases.
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate models, prompts, and product ideas.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data from observational and experimental sources to improve existing models or create new ones.
  • Develop and validate LLM-powered applications, including prompt testing, agent evaluation, guardrail assessment, and proof-of-concept builds.
  • Participate in Data Science chapter activities such as guilds, design reviews, and demos.
  • Collaborate with product squads and cross-functional teammates to deliver features and improve the product experience.
  • Contribute to broader Data Science discussions and technical decision-making across the chapter.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience applying data science and building machine learning models.
  • Expert knowledge of machine learning concepts, including regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, feature selection, cross-validation, curse of dimensionality, bias-variance tradeoff, and model explainability.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering challenges involved in deploying machine learning systems to production.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Some knowledge or experience with deep learning.
  • Experience providing technical guidance to other data scientists or demonstrating technical leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Good English skills, both written and verbal, are mandatory.
  • MSc. in machine learning, data science, information retrieval, ranking systems, recommender systems, natural language processing, or a related field, or an undergraduate degree plus intensive experience in a relevant area (preferred).
  • Experience with applied generative AI, including AI agents, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning with LoRA, QLoRA, or PEFT, LLM routing, monitoring, and guardrails (preferred).
  • Experience working at fast-growing startups (preferred).
