Description

  • Own the architecture and evolution of the data platform to support large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing.
  • Design and implement systems for analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage metering.
  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and data quality through strong engineering and observability practices.
  • Drive best practices in data engineering, system design, and observability across the organization.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data and platform engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.
  • Provide performance management and foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Product, AI, Growth, and Marketing teams to translate data needs into scalable solutions and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Treat the data platform as an internal product: improve developer experience, usability, and track platform KPIs such as adoption, reliability, and performance.
  • Optimize infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance at scale and continuously evaluate tools, technologies, and processes to improve ROI.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software/data engineering, with 2+ years in engineering management.
  • Strong technical depth and sound architecture judgment with proven ability to make architectural trade-offs and lead large technical initiatives.
  • Experience building and scaling data platforms or distributed systems at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with backend technologies in the Node.js / JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Practical experience with systems like Spark, streaming technologies, and data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
  • Solid understanding of analytics systems and end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stack tools.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with business teams.
  • (Nice to have) Experience supporting AI/ML, experimentation platforms, or growth analytics.
  • (Nice to have) Familiarity with frontend technologies like React.js for internal tools or dashboards and experience handling consumer-scale data (millions of users).
