Description

  • Review completed learning modules and identify opportunities to improve visual engagement and interactivity.
  • Process approximately 5 learning resources per day using AI-integrated workflows to diagnose issues and recommend improvements.
  • Propose and implement visual enhancements using existing diagrams, images, video, audio, and interactive components.
  • Translate pedagogical needs into interactive experiences that function within the LMS environment.
  • Prototype missing components with illustrative or dead-code prototypes that communicate design intent to engineering.
  • Evaluate the reusability and scalability of proposed components before sending them to engineering.
  • Use AI-integrated prototyping tools to rapidly iterate and explore design ideas.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to preserve content integrity while improving learner engagement.
  • Participate in regular design reviews and assess the effectiveness of design decisions over time.
  • Write clear, feasible, and well-documented design specs for engineering partners.

Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of experience in interaction design, visual design, or UX/UI focused on learning or educational content.
  • A portfolio with actual work samples from learning environments such as EdTech, corporate training, or professional development.
  • Portfolio evidence showing how you balance learner engagement with educational integrity.
  • Examples in the portfolio that show design decisions and the thinking behind them, not just final outputs.
  • Familiarity with component libraries and an understanding of what React components can do.
  • Experience with AI-integrated prototyping or design-to-code tools.
  • Working knowledge of LMS platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, or similar systems.
  • Strong visual taste and design sense with an eye for current design without chasing trends.
  • Ability to make confident, pragmatic decisions in a constrained environment.
  • Preferred: background in EdTech, corporate training, or professional development.
  • Preferred: experience designing responsive layouts and mobile-optimized experiences.
  • Preferred: understanding of accessibility requirements in educational content.
  • Preferred: experience working directly with engineering teams and navigating technical trade-offs.
