Description

  • Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with speed, accuracy, and documentation.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules and maintain scalable internal controls that withstand audit scrutiny.
  • Lead ASC 606 revenue recognition across subscription SaaS, AI usage‑based revenue, and platform/payment revenue streams, and ensure accounting treatment is clean and defensible.
  • Own the full order‑to‑cash lifecycle in a Stripe-based billing environment, including subscriptions, invoicing, settlements, refunds, disputes, and GL reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain reporting infrastructure to provide leadership and the board with reliable financial visibility and product economics insights.
  • Own cash flow forecasting and liquidity management and manage compliance, covenant tracking, and lender reporting for the company’s debt facility.
  • Own multi‑state income tax and indirect tax compliance (sales/use tax), lead SaaS taxability analysis, and build systems to support international tax regimes (GST/HST/VAT) and FX exposure tracking.
  • Coordinate payroll, equity/options processing, billing, AR, AP, and cash management operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Evaluate and improve the accounting tech stack, partner with data/engineering to ensure reliable financial data flows (audit‑ready), and drive automation to reduce manual risk.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful ownership of close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
  • CPA required.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of ASC 606 applied to SaaS, including subscription billing, usage‑based models, and multi‑element arrangements.
  • Strong understanding of the full order‑to‑cash lifecycle in a Stripe-based billing environment.
  • Experience managing or coordinating a debt facility, including covenant compliance and lender reporting.
  • Multi‑state tax compliance experience, including SaaS taxability and indirect taxes; ability to build international tax capabilities as revenue expands.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI to automate workflows and demonstrate tangible process improvements.
  • Experience with ERP transitions (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Rillet, Campfire, NetSuite, or similar) and high attention to detail with clear communication to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment where priorities shift.
