Description

  • Design and evolve bare-metal Kubernetes architectures, including control plane, worker nodes, networking, and storage integrations.
  • Define and improve cluster lifecycle management standards for provisioning, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Design multi-tenant cluster controls such as RBAC, OIDC/SSO, namespace isolation, and quota strategies.
  • Deploy, operate, and continuously improve large-scale bare-metal Kubernetes clusters across multiple data centers.
  • Implement and maintain cluster networking components such as CNI, BGP, load balancers, and ingress.
  • Build and maintain GitOps-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines for platform services, add-ons, and tenant workloads.
  • Ensure platform observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.
  • Participate in production on-call rotation and lead or contribute to incident response and postmortems.
  • Own reliability, performance, and security improvements for Kubernetes clusters and platform services.
  • Partner with engineering, SRE, Security, and Network teams on production use cases, support models, and cross-team projects.
  • Lead technical design reviews, write design documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience running Kubernetes in production, with significant bare-metal experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration, networking, performance tuning, and security hardening.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, including the API server, etcd, controllers, scheduler, and kubelet.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, NetworkPolicies, and L4/L7 load balancing.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Elastic/ELK, Grafana, Fluentd, or Fluent Bit.
  • Solid scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or similar for automation and integration work.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for distributed collaboration and runbooks.
  • Preferred experience with KubeVirt, on-prem GitHub Actions runners, Portworx, OpenStack, and multi-tenant platform design.
