Description

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and own the accuracy and timeliness of assigned client accounting tasks.
  • Manage client relationships by setting and maintaining expectations, handling email correspondence, and participating in client meetings.
  • Perform and review financial statements and reconciliations, including owner statements, income statements, balance sheets, and crosschecks.
  • Execute core trust accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, billing, payment processing, owner statement processing, and security deposit processing.
  • Lead and participate in new client onboardings and clean-up (non-routine) accounting services.
  • Train team members on new or complex trust accounting processes and function as the first point of contact to define and document new processes.
  • Monitor team performance metrics (budget vs. actual hours) and oversee issue resolution alongside the Trust Department Manager.
  • Create spreadsheets and ad hoc tools to improve trust accounting process efficiency and lead ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Full-time availability for 40–45 hours per week and ability to start immediately (remote role).
  • Compensation in the range of $17–$20 per hour (hourly wage).
  • Proven bookkeeping or trust accounting experience with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and deliver a consistent client experience (own the outcome, ease of doing business, and extraordinary service).
  • Experience defining, documenting, improving, and training others on accounting processes.
  • Basic ability to read and analyze financial statements and perform financial diagnostics.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to quickly learn and master cloud-based property management/accounting software (AppFolio or Rentvine preferred).
  • Comfort using internal communication and tracking tools (email, Slack, task-by-task time tracking).
